Victoria Beckham Reveals She Was Forced To Weigh Herself on Live TV After Giving Birth
It’s been 23 years since former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham welcomed her first child into the world, but there’s one memory from that time that still sticks out to her — and not in a good way. During a new interview, Victoria revealed that she was forced to weigh herself on live TV after her postpartum weight loss kicked in. This is horrifying.
Victoria opened up about an appearance she made on a British talk show in 1999.
She had just welcomed son Brooklyn Beckham two months earlier when she sat down with host Chris Evans of TFI Friday, and according to what she told Vogue Australia (via Page Six), the interview didn’t go quite as she planned.
“I went on a TV show with Chris Evans many years ago and I’d just had Brooklyn and lost a lot of weight after,” she said. “It happened to my mum after her pregnancies. It doesn’t mean you have an eating disorder. And he made me stand on the scales to be weighed.”
In the clip, Victoria is visibly uncomfortable.
The host asked her how she got back in shape again after having a baby, and during their conversation, he took a scale out from under his desk and asked Victoria to stand on it.
She obliged, and Chris announced her weight to everyone watching. We can’t imagine what that must have felt like!
