Princess Kate in royal ‘first’ as she pays subtle tribute during latest appearance
The Princess of Wales was praised by a style expert for her outfit choice at the Wimbledon finals earlier this month, which was a royal “first” for the future queen for a key reason.
For the first time, Kate wore a purple midi dress by Safiyaa as she wowed the crowds at Centre Court.
She paired the bold garment with Camilla Elphick’s Lucia slingbacks in tan, a pair of gold hoop earrings by Pariah, Halcyon Day’s Hammered Torque Forget-Me-Not and Gold bangle and the same brand’s Salamander Torque Forget-Me-Not and Gold bangle.
Now Tobias Kormind, managing director at 77 Diamonds, hailed the future queen’s “fresh look”.
He told GB News: “Kate’s stunning and distinctive new Wimbledon statement look comprised a purple dress (paying tribute to the Wimbledon colours) which was a first for the princess.
“She paired this rich and regal hue with large, statement yellow gold earrings, the perfect combination, and in contrast to some of the more dainty jewels she has sometimes worn at Wimbledon in the past.”
The expert added that while Princess Kate returned to Wimbledon this year with a “fresh look”, it “complemented her past outfit and jewellery choices well”.
He added that she teamed this with a couple of bold, yellow gold and aquamarine and topaz-set bangles.
“The combination of her green and gold look of 2023 and her purple and gold look of 2024, both worn to the men’s tennis final match, also pay tribute to her position as the president of the All England Lawn Tennis Club,” said the expert
