According to reports, the Queen pointed to a picture of Harry’s family and remarked, “That one. I suppose we don’t need that one,” signaling a significant snub that deeply hurt Harry and Meghan.
This exclusion was perceived by Harry and Meghan as a clear indication that they were not central to the future of the monarchy, prompting them to consider their own path. Shortly after, in January 2020, they announced their decision to step back from their roles as senior royals, a move that became widely known as “Megxit.”
