Andy Murray and tennis star’s rows including ‘idiot’ remark after Emma Raducanu session

Andy Murray has never shirked a challenge on the court, and the Brit ace is the same when he sees something he doesn’t agree with on social media

Contrary to popular belief, Andy Murray is capable of having a laugh.

The two-time Wimbledon winner has been widely accused of being boring throughout his tennis career. Yet, the Scotsman has a rather blunt and dry sense of humour, which many often interpret as serious.

There have been many occasions where fans thought Murray was arguing with people on social media when he was joking. Over the years, Liam Broady has been the perfect X sparring partner for the 37-year-old.

Yet, even now, people believe they are genuinely arguing with each other when they are dishing their comments out on social media. Mirror Sport has a look at Murray and Broady’s previous social media jostles.

n 2022, Murray and Emma Raducanu had a knock-up on the eve of the Australian Open. This immediately went viral, as many thought this was the start of a new dawn, as Raducanu had recently won the US Open.

Broady smelled blood and decided to go in two-footed on Murray. He tweeted: “Why is Andy’s body shaped like a teapot in the third picture?” before he added: “I’ve just realised this is Emma’s coach and not Andy hahahahahahaha.”

Murray brutally replied: “You didn’t realise, Liam. I told you when you messaged me trying to make fun of me. Not only are you an idiot, you’re a liar. With tweets like that, it’s no wonder people believe Murray and Broady do not like each other.

Broady the Clown
Taking a break from Broady, Murray decided to target the commentator who was overseeing Mirra Andreeva’s stunning comeback victory over Diane Parry. He took to X and said: “Commentator: ‘She really needs to work on the mental side of her game… she’s too hard on herself when she’s losing’. 30 minutes later 7-6 Andreeva wins.
