Paris Olympics 2024: Iga Swiatek’s projected path to Gold Medal

Iga Swiatek’s path to potentially winning the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics includes a series of challenging but navigable matches. In the first round, she faces Irina-Camelia Begu, whom she has defeated in their only previous encounter. The second round could see Swiatek up against either Nadia Podoroska or Diane Parry, with the Pole having a prior victory over Podoroska at the 2020 French Open.

Moving into the later rounds, Swiatek might encounter Diana Shnaider in the third round and potentially Danielle Collins or Jelena Ostapenko in the quarter-finals. While Swiatek has a favorable record against Collins, she has yet to defeat Ostapenko. A semi-final clash could pit her against Caroline Garcia, with Swiatek having won most of their previous matches. If she reaches the final, Swiatek could meet Coco Gauff, who she has consistently beaten in past encounters.
