Late Queen’s hilarious five-word response to Tom Daley that revealed her sense of humour
The late Queen showed off her quick-witted personality when she replied to athlete Tom Daley when the pair discussed the Olympic Games.
Showing off the late monarch’s fantastic sense of humour, Tom revealed that she made a comment about her height and how she should try her hand at gymnastics
While discussing the meeting on the Swedish chat show Skavlan, Tom said: “She commented on her height compared to some of the other athletes in the room and because me and the other athletes were quite small, she said, ‘Maybe I should try gymnastics’.
“She was fully game to get involved in the sport.” According to Express.co.uk, the hilarious interaction took place back in 2016.
A year later, the late Queen expressed her love for gymnastics while awarding the six-time Olympic Games medallist Max Whitlock.
Speaking after his investiture ceremony, Max added: “It was pretty cool to hear the Queen say she likes the sport.”
Although known for her interest in the Olympic Games, the late Queen’s passion was in horse racing.
As well as being an accomplished horse rider, the late monarch – who passed away in 2022 – was often pictured enjoying rides in Windsor Great Park.
The late royal made history during her illustrious career when she was inducted into the official hall of fame for British flat racing, a tribute to her dedication and love for the sport.
