Prince William Reportedly ‘Couldn’t Stand’ Stepmom Camilla As She ‘Destroyed’ His Parents’ Marriage
The royal family has experienced ruptured relationship dynamics among its members in recent years, and new revelations suggest that Prince William always had one with Queen Camilla.
The Prince of Wales reportedly “couldn’t stand” his stepmother at first, as she was seen as the woman who “destroyed” King Charles III’s marriage to his mom, the late Princess Diana.
Prince William and Camilla now appear to have a cordial working relationship, but the same cannot be said for his younger brother, Prince Harry, who accused her of sacrificing him on her “personal PR altar.”
Prince William reportedly had a strong disapproval of his stepmother following the breakdown of his parents’ marriage.
Things appear to have settled well between them as they both deal with the ailing health of their respective spouses, but royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News that it had not always been like that.
“Prince William initially couldn’t stand Camilla,” Fordwich said. “[But] he has come to appreciate her steadfast dedication to duty. They have become closer and have bonded over their spouses coping with cancer treatment.”
He continued, “Camilla has a calming influence on King Charles. Prince William appreciates that she also makes his father happy.”
The recent report comes after Christopher Andersen, author of “The King,” told Fox News that the pair didn’t immediately hit it off when they first met as the Duchess of Cornwall took some time before she could gain the courage to stand up against him.
Camilla has widely been accused of shattering Charles’ marriage to the late Diana after the pair began an affair in the late 70s and early 80s while married to their respective partners.
“Camilla was so terrified at the prospect of meeting William that when she finally met him at Clarence House, she was trembling like a leaf and needed a vodka and tonic afterward,” Andersen claimed.
He added, “That seems perfectly understandable since Camilla — and the world — knew she had destroyed the marriage of William’s parents, Charles and Diana.”
