Although William and Camilla’s relationship has seemingly improved over the years, the same cannot be said of Harry, who cast aspersions on her in his 2023 memoir “Spare.”
The Duke of Sussex, who has been embroiled in several lawsuits with the British press, accused Camilla of leaking private conversations to them in a bid to refine her public image following her long-time affair with Charles.
Harry also recalled having “mixed feelings” about his father’s marriage to Camilla because he feared he’d lose the king to her.
“I knew without question that this marriage would take Pa away from us. Not in any real sense, not in any deliberate or malicious way, but nevertheless – away. He was entering a new space, a closed space, a tightly insular space,” he wrote in his memoir.
Harry angrily penned that Camilla had “sacrificed me on her personal PR altar,” but he was forced to sweep his emotions under the carpet when he “saw Pa’s smile and it was hard to argue with that, and harder still to deny the cause.”
