Prince Harry Is Reportedly Not Reconciling With William As The Sussexes Have ‘Their Own Agenda’
Prince William and Prince Harry have reportedly not spoken to each other since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022, and according to a royal expert, the brothers are not likely to reconcile anytime soon.
Biographer Andrew Morton has shared that William and Harry’s strained relationship will persist, especially as the Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan Markle, have “worked out a life together” in the U.S. with their own “agenda” and “causes.”
Morton’s claim comes after it was alleged that Prince William is navigating crisis talks with Prince Harry with the help of their royal cousins, Princess Beatrice and Zara Tindall.
Harry and William’s relationship has been evidently fractured since 2020, when the duke and his wife, Meghan, decided to step down from their roles as senior working royals and relocate to the United States.
During a chat with Times Radio, Morton noted that Harry and Meghan’s new life in the U.S. shows the unlikelihood of a reconciliation between William and his younger brother.
“I think that Harry and Meghan have worked out a life together,” Morton said, per The Express. “They have their own agenda and they have their own causes. And I don’t see any movement whatsoever towards a reconciliation.”
“I would say that they’ve got an established pattern in their lives,” the royal expert continued. “And if any year could have brought about a reconciliation with the King suffering from cancer, and we all know about Kate [Middleton] and her medical problems, this would be the year to have done it.”
“But there’s obviously been no movement in that regard,” Morton added.
Another royal expert voiced concerns similar to Morton’s regarding a potential reconciliation between the royal siblings.
While speaking with GB News, BBC royal correspondent Michael Cole shared that allegations made by the Sussexes against the royal family have made it impossible for the feuding camps to make amends as there is “too much bad blood.”
After Harry and Meghan moved to the U.S. in 2020, they had a sit-down interview with legendary talk-show host Oprah Winfrey.
During the interview, the couple made several bombshell claims that many deemed damaging to the royal family’s reputation, including alleging that a senior royal made comments about the skin color of their then-unborn son, Prince Archie.
Subsequently, Harry released his “Spare” memoir in early 2023, which had more scathing remarks about the royal family.
“I don’t think there’s any chance at all of there a reconciliation with the brothers now or in the foreseeable future,” Cole said of the situation, per Express. “It goes back to the Oprah Winfrey interview then the book Spare and all the things that were said in the Netflix six-part series, too much bad blood and William is not going to forgive.”
Back in July, royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News that the future king is taking a no-nonsense approach to his feud with Harry and has placed an “absolute ban” on the duke’s return to the royal fold.
“It is widely known within the family that Prince William has laid down an absolute ban on Harry returning in any way, shape, or form into his former royal family fold,” she told the news outlet.
Fordwich continued, “If anyone will relent, it would be King Charles, whom, of course, Prince William won’t challenge, who still misses his ‘darling boy’ and would like to see more of Prince Harry.”
“However, to this day, after the release of ‘Spare’ and the Netflix serial, as well as with everything else Harry has said, done, and not done, it’s Prince William who adamantly refuses to even speak to his brother,” she added.
The recent remarks about a reconciliation between Harry and William come after royal expert Grant Harrold claimed that the Prince of Wales was working through crisis talks with his estranged brother, with the support of his cousins, Princess Beatrice and Zara Tindall.
Harrold shared that Beatrice has been particularly supportive of the brothers due to her close relationship with them.
“Beatrice is very close with both William and Harry,” the former butler said, per the New York Post. “Their relationship is fun and natural. It’s never changed. They always have a lot of jokes together and can laugh.”
He added, “They’re friends, and that is what’s nice about it. They’re cousins, but they’re close and have each other’s backs. They do spend a lot of time together.”
Harrold suggests that Beatrice might play a crucial role by acting “as a peacemaker” for Harry, William, and King Charles III.
Given her close ties with both brothers and the king, he believes she could act as a mediator, noting: “She’s close to both William and Harry, as well as the king — and they trust her. It would be her out of anyone else — but she wouldn’t want to be too involved.”
Harrold also noted that William and Harry might be engaging in private discussions to resolve their differences. However, his remarks contradict claims that the brothers haven’t spoken to each other since 2022.
“You’d like to think this time would bring William and Harry closer, but we don’t really know what’s going on behind closed doors,” Harrol said.
The former butler suggested that while communication between the brothers and their father, King Charles, is likely happening, the process is complicated.
“A lot has to be resolved and sorted out. This may well be on track, but it may not have even been addressed yet,” he added.
