Queen Camilla’s son’s candid four-word verdict on her relationship with King Charles

Mr Parker Bowles, 49, has been a food writer and restaurant critic for 24 years and has written a new book about the eating habits of royals.

Up until now, he has avoided talking about the royal family but in his latest book, he writes about their eating habits.

And the restaurant critic and food writer has also given his verdict on the pairing of his mother the Queen, 77, and King Charles, 75.

Mr Parker Bowles also gave his thoughts on King Charles as a person, saying his latest project – Cooking & The Crown simply wouldn’t have happened without him.

He said: “It wouldn’t have happened without the Palace and the King.”

His book includes a few of his mother’s recipes and features dishes relating to every monarch from Queen Victoria to King Charles.

He described the UK monarch as “the kindest, most knowledgeable, lovely man.”

Mr Parker Bowles said: “He is someone you can ask about food and it’s like asking an academic.”

He added: “He’s trodden every corner of his kingdom; he knows farming – he’s a farming hero.”

Mr Parker Bowles has also dismissed rumours regarding his mother’s drinking habits and chain-smoking.
