Prince William reveals his secret ‘crucial motto of being a parent’ to George, Charlotte and Louis

When it comes to parenting, Prince William and Kate Middleton are never short of sage advice and regularly share snippets of their home-life with the public while out and about on public engagements. From favourite bedtime stories, to screen-time limits, over the years, the royals have revealed plenty of insight into their parenting style – but it appears Prince William has one extra trick up his sleeve as he recently revealed the mantra he likes to live by when it comes to his three children.

On October 15, the Prince of Wales, 42 attended a community day in London organised by the NFL Foundation UK, in which he was given an American Football to take home to his children in thanks for his visit – prompting the heir to the throne to cheekily joke about how it tied into a “crucial motto” for raising his kids.

“Oh, that’s very kind. Never go home empty handed! That’s a crucial motto of being a parent,” Prince William said in a video shared by The Independent.

“That’s really kind of you. Thank you very much. We’ll do some practice together,” William continued. “See how many windows I can smash!”

The cheeky insight into life with his three children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9 and Prince Louis, 6 – is far from the first time William has opened up about raising them in recent weeks. While Princess Kate, 42, has been recovering privately from cancer for the most of the year, her husband William has been taking the helm with public engagements, where he has been given plenty of small tokens and sweets as messages of support from well-wishers.

Notably, while interacting with the public, Prince William has let slip numerous details about what his children have been enjoying lately, such as Princess Charlotte’s keen love of “dancing and performing” and even how all three of his children like to “wrestle over the remote” when it comes to deciding who gets to watch TV!
