She fondly remembered their on-court partnership as a career “highlight” and admired Murray’s leadership qualities.

Judy Murray took to her official Twitter account to share a clip from Tennis Letter, where Serena Williams fondly recalled Andy Murray’s brilliance and expressed her admiration for the British legend during his Wimbledon farewell. Judy Murray shared the clip with a red heart emoji, highlighting her appreciation for Williams’ gesture. Meanwhile, Williams sent a heartfelt message to Murray, using her natural humor to highlight their similarities.

“Congratulations to you Andy Murray for such incredible career. I have to say I have always enjoyed watching, one of the main reasons cause you were on of the fewer players who are angrier than me on the court, which is a very hard thing to do and may have a little bucket attitude just like mine,” said Williams. This Olympic gold medalist and former world No. 1 in WTA showed that great minds think alike and share similar on-court personalities.

Williams recalled the “fantastic experience” playing mixed doubles with Murray, winning two matches in 2019 before being defeated by Bruno Soares and Nicole Melichar-Martinez in the third round. “I had the pleasure of playing mixed doubles next to you by your side, which was such a fantastic experience to do that and Wimbledon nonetheless,” – she said.

Murray received a farewell celebration from his favorite Slam, with organizers hosting a special ceremony as his final Wimbledon journey began with a men’s doubles match alongside his brother Jamie Murray. Although they faced an early defeat, Andy Murray is still set to play mixed doubles with Emma Raducanu. His last run at Wimbledon evoked nostalgia for many, including Williams, and he is also set to compete in the Paris Olympics.

Serena Williams’ heartfelt message for Andy Murray highlighted how much the Briton is loved by his colleagues. Judy Murray’s endearing reaction to Williams’ statements showed the special bond between them. Murray has always impressed with his playing style and his advocacy for women’s tennis, consistently standing up for the rights of female players.
