Lip reader reveals what King Charles said before ‘bored Meghan Markle’ left party

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s controversial exit from a garden party, hosted at Buckingham Palace for then-Prince Charles’s 70th birthday, sent royal fans into a frenzy of speculation.

The event took place in 2018, not long after Harry and Meghan had tied the knot in a lavish royal ceremony in Windsor.

Footage from the party showed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex leaving the royal party shortly after Prince Harry had a quiet word with his father.

Lady Colin, in her book “Meghan and Harry: The Real Story”, said that Harry and Meghan “plunged in, gladhanding those who had been selected for introductions. She charmed everyone.

“Fifteen minutes into the event, she turned to Harry and said, ‘Harry, this is really boring. Let’s leave.’

“To his credit, he informed her that they would have to stay. ‘But Harry,’ she said, ‘this is so boring. We’ve done our bit. Everyone knows we’ve been here. Let’s go.’

“Harry asserted that they had to stay, and they moved on.”

However, after examining the footage a professional lip reader has offered an alternative explanation.

The lip reader told MailOnline that a staff member explained to Harry that he had been “called for”.

Charles then said to Harry: “We are going now, We have to leave”, to which Harry replied: “You go ahead”.

The now-King said: “We will go now, see you later”, and Harry said in response: “Yes, catch up after.”

During their interactions, Harry is approached by a royal member of staff, who appears to tell the Prince that his father wants to talk to him.
