Princess Kate ‘showed Meghan Markle who’s in charge’ with swift manoeuvre
When the Waleses and the Sussexes were reunited for the first time after Queen Elizabeth died, Princess Kate showed she could hold her own.
Princess Kate’s body language during the Windsor walkabout in September 2022 showed her composure and determination following her reunion with Meghan Markle, according to an expert.
Prince William and Kate were joined by Prince Harry and Meghan as they greeted crowds in mourning outside Windsor Castle days after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
It was a tense reunion for the two royal wives, who would not have seen each other in close proximity since Harry and Meghan’s infamous 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview.
However Kate did not let that deter her from the duty at hand, as body language analyst Jesús Enrique Rosas said on his YouTube channel Royal Rogue: “She nailed the way one should behave when you find yourself in a situation in which you need to share the stage with others.”
“I have seen Catherine walking a thousand times and she usually doesn’t have her chin that high up – in some scenarios, it could be read as arrogance, but in this case, it was more like… she was showing who was in charge.
“Despite what was being requested of William and Catherine in this moment, they behaved in the most diplomatic and polite way, and that is the ability that some people have, that is part of emotional intelligence.”
Further footage of the couples is analysed in the video, which the expert claims is a demonstration of Meghan’s more reserved attitude towards the British public.
At one point William and Kate wave to the crowd and address them, with Meghan also engaging but making a much smaller wave as they stood by the car.
Mr Rosas continued: “This is another picture truly representative of the power of presence. You can see the tension in Meghan’s body with her arm contracted and if you have a keen eye, you can also see the tension in her neck.
