‘Heartbroken’: Princess Catherine and Prince William at odds over where to send Prince George for secondary school
Princess Catherine and Prince William have reportedly had a nasty row over Prince George’s schooling which left the Princess of Wales devastated.
George, 10, currently attends an independent preparatory school in Berkshire with his siblings but is set to attend the all-boys secondary school Eton, the same institution attended by his father and uncle Prince Harry.
The Prince of Wales started at Eton in 1995 and graduated in 2000 and is reportedly eager for George and Louis to attend the ultra-expensive boys school, where tuition is currently £53,398 per year.
However, Kate is feeling unsure about sending her eldest son to the “upper-crust institution” after her own experience with bullying while attending an all-girls school.

Kate, 42, attended an elite girls boarding school in Berkshire called Downe House, which she “hated” and ended up leaving mid-term due to bullying.
The future Princess of Wales ultimately moved to Marlborough College, a co-ed boarding school in Wiltshire, where she stayed for the rest of her schooling and is keen for George to attend her alma mater.
“Kate thinks sending George to such a stuffy, upper-crust institution goes against all of their efforts to modernise the monarchy,” a palace insider told InTouch Weekly on Monday.
The issue is said to have caused a row at Adelaide Cottage with William and Kate reportedly “arguing” for hours over the decision, the source claimed.

“Kate long disagreed with her husband about sending him away, even though it’s tradition,” the source said.
The source added Kate, who is currently on hiatus from public duties while undergoing cancer treatment, was “finally giving in” to her husband’s wishes and he appears to have “won” the argument for now.
The rumoured argument marks the first update on the Princess of Wales since her surprise appearance at last month’s Trooping the Colour parade marking King Charles’ birthday.
Kate, who is understood to be splitting her time between Adelaide Cottage in Windsor and the family country estate Anmer Hall, is widely tipped to possibly make another appearance at the Wimbledon Grand Slam finals on Saturday.

The Princess of Wales has served as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club since 2016 and traditionally hands out the trophies to the men’s and women’s singles champions.
