Royal Family LIVE: Harry and Meghan’s royal reconciliation plans revealed with key move
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle showed no signs of wanting to “mend the rift” with the Royal Family during their latest interview, a royal expert has claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared on CBS’ Sunday Morning, where they announced their new project – The Parents Network – which aims to tackle child safety online and connect families who have lost their children to suicide due to a lack of safeguarding online
During the interview, Meghan revealed she “only scratched the surface” of speaking about her mental health in her now-infamous interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 and added she hopes “being open” about her own suicidal thoughts and “online bullying” can “save others”. A clip of the Oprah interview was played during the Sussexe’s latest interview.
According to royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, the decision to include a clip from their infamous interview is a “clear sign” the couple have no plans to mend their ongoing rift with the royals anytime soon.
He told the Sun: “The way they are using a clip from an interview which did so much harm to the Royal Family. If you want a relationship of any sort and you give interviews of this sort that bring up memories that will undoubtedly damage the institution, clearly you won’t get it. It doesn’t look like either of them want to bridge that gap or mend that rift.”
