Is Trump The Reason Behind Prince Harry And Meghan’s Urgency To Repair Royal Ties?
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are making increasingly “desperate” efforts to start healing the rift with his father King Charles and the royal family and the reason could be the upcoming US election.
In recent days, the Duke of Sussex was seen making several attempts to reach out to his father, who continues to undergo treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer. He also flew to London to see his father and after meeting he told reporters, “Throughout all these families I see it on a day-to-day basis, the strength of the family unit coming together. I think any illness, any sickness brings families together.”
Daily Mail’s Richard Eden, in his op-ed, suggested that the ongoing threats from Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump have left the Sussexes feeling uneasy.
“It seems quite clear that they are desperate to start healing the rift,” an ex-employee told the Eden.
Earlier, this year Trump’s son Eric called the Duke and Duchess ‘spoiled apples’ and threatened that Harry could be deported if the Republican win.
“You can happily have those two… We might not want them any more; it feels like they’re on an island of their own,” Eric said.
Prince Harry, who has been residing in the United States since 2020, may face deportation if it is discovered that he provided false information on his visa application, according to former President Donald Trump.
The Prince’s admission in his memoir, Spare, that he had previously used drugs such as cocaine, cannabis, and psychedelic mushrooms could be grounds for his visa application to be denied under US law, reported Daily Mail.
Furthermore, Meghan and Trump have a strained relationship. During her time as an actress, Meghan referred to Trump as divisive and misogynistic. While filming the legal drama Suits in Toronto, she even suggested that she might remain in Canada rather than return to the United States if he were to become president.
