Queen Camilla’s son breaks silence on ‘inaccurate’ rumors about her health habits
In the run-up to his book release, Cooking and the Crown, Tom Parker Bowles has refuted widespread rumors suggesting that his mother, Queen Camilla, partakes heavily in alcohol and cigarettes, branding them as “inaccurate.” He offered a staunch rebuttal in a September interview with The Times: “Never drunk a glass of gin in her life,” he proclaimed.
“Doesn’t smoke… Never seen her so much as tipsy.” His comments surfaced just weeks before the Queen was forced to cancel official duties due to a chest infection, although specific details on her condition or treatment remain undisclosed. Instead, it’s been made clear that she will continue under medical watch.
According to the Mirror, a Buckingham Palace representative revealed: “Her Majesty The Queen is currently unwell with a chest infection, for which her doctors have advised a short period of rest.”
Adding to the royal health updates, “With great regret, Her Majesty has therefore had to withdraw from her engagements for this week but she very much hopes to be recovered in time to attend this weekend’s Remembrance events as normal.”
“She apologizes to all those who may be inconvenienced or disappointed as a result.” Meanwhile, it has emerged that although Queen Camilla used to enjoy smoking, these days, after getting guidance from a personal trainer, she leads a significantly healthier lifestyle, reports the Mirror.
Both she and King Charles favor nutritious meals made from fresh estate-grown produce. Tom’s latest cookbook reveals that her Majesty has an eye for nutritious meals, famously preparing a royal family breakfast tradition every Boxing Day. The dish, affectionately dubbed “buttered eggs” by Princess Margaret, is simple with just four key ingredients and takes only 10 to 20 minutes to whip up.
