Queen Camilla’s birthday plans revealed as royal set to be ‘spoilt’ rotten
Queen Camilla will be celebrating her 77th birthday on Wednesday, July 17 and is set to be “spoilt” rotten by her husband, King Charles, according to a former royal butler.
Wednesday is set to be a busy day for the royal couple, as Charles prepares for his second King’s speech at the State Opening of Parliament in late morning.
But they are likely going to celebrate “privately” with a party at Clarence House later in the day, it has been claimed.
Paul Burrell, who used to be a former footman to Queen Elizabeth and butler to Princess Diana, revealed what tomorrow’s celebrations might look like for the couple.
Speaking on behalf of Slingo, Mr Burrell suggested that Charles might take Camilla to one of the royals’ “favourite” places to dine out, The Ritz.
He said: “I think privately, the King will give her a party at Clarence House or Birkhall and they’ll have people go up to Scotland. He likes to give her jewellery. I think he’ll give her something special. He may have had something commissioned for a birthday.
“He’s very spoiling, the King, and he will make sure that all attention is on Camilla. He likes to remind her that she’s Queen. He likes to remind her that this is given by him for her service over the years to him, and this is his reward to her.”
The former royal butler added: “I don’t think there’ll be any public celebrations because it’s not a milestone birthday. Everything will be behind closed doors.
“Maybe they’ll go back to the Ritz again because that was a milestone when they first stepped out together. They like dining out, but why dine out when you have a fantastic chef at home?”
