King and Queen tour LIVE: Charles and Camilla receive rapturous welcome in Guernsey
King Charles and Queen Camilla have embarked on the second day of their royal tour as they arrived in Guernsey, having spent the day yesterday in Jersey.
It is set to be another busy day of engagements for Their Majesties, as this morning they attended a sitting of Guernsey’s Parliament, the Special Sitting of the States of Deliberation, on the seafront.
After a commemorative plaque unveiling they are learning more about the culture, heritage and produce of the island in a showcase on the Crown Pier, as well as learning about Guernsey’s environmental initiatives, a subject especially close to the King’s heart.
Charles and Camilla will then attend separate events early this afternoon as he meets with representatives from Guernsey Finance while she enjoys a tour of Hauteville House, where the French author Victor Hugo lived when he was in exile.
To round off the day the King and Queen will reunite at Les Cotils to meet some rare Golden Guernsey Goats, with His Majesty set to bestow them with a Royal Title.
